This Par 4, 1st hole at Kinsale plays from elevated tees to a gorgeous landing area framed by bunkers on both sides of the fairway. A bunker short right and a long finger like bunker on the left, guards the green for this middle iron approach.

The Par 4 second is a long hole that will challenge all players. A pond frames the right side of the hole from the landing area to the green. A long, precise approach shot will be required with the pond on the right and a bunker on the left side of the green.

Aisling (Ahshlihng) Dream
The Par five, third hole will play slightly uphill and into the prevailing wind. Avoiding the large bunker that frames the right side is key. Also, a group of bunkers angled from right to left will present the players with options on their second shot. You should favor the left side of the fairway for the best angle into this raised green that falls off into a deep valley on the right. A good tee shot will allow the player to get to the green in two.

This par three has a very intimidating tee shot. Negotiating the large bunker in front is the first challenge, followed closely by tackling the three small bunkers on the right. A front pin location requires a long precise tee shot, while the longest carry is to the back left pin position.

The par 4 5th hole offers a variety of ways to play this relatively short par four. With numerous lows and highs along the length of the hole, the best angle into the green is close to the fairway bunkers on the right. The deep bunker needs to be avoided on the short iron approach. A left pin location requires your tee shot to be positioned on the right side of the fairway. While a right pin locations opens up the entire fairway.

The par 4, 6th hole is a slight dogleg left par four pivots at the fairway bunker on the left and the small bunker in the center of the landing area. Landing a drive between these two bunkers will open up the green. There are bunkers short left and a pond to the right, and the green offers a false front that will reject all shots short and right. But there is plenty of bailout room behind the green.

The par 4, 7th is one of the shortest par 4 on the course. Hitting a driver will bring a stream and greenside pond into play that pinches the fairway toward the green. Playing near to the fairway bunker on the right is preferred for a sightline to the flag because of a large mound short left of the green.

The par 3, 8th is a beautiful setting for a great short, par three. An existing pond fronts the small target framed by the trees beyond the green on the left, and a bunker that wraps around the right hand side of the green. This makes this short par 3 an intimidating hole.

The par 5, 9th is the longest of the par 5's at Kinsale. Avoiding the deep bunker is necessary to achieve par. Another fairway wood and mid to short iron is needed to reach the green in three for most players. Bunkers on the left side and a pond on the right guard the treacherous approach.

The par 4, 10th requires an accurate tee shot. The wooded setting frames this hole from tee to green. The fairway wraps around various features and provides obscure views of the green. A deep bunker guards the front right of the putting surface.

The par 5, 11th demands placement off of the tee. A group of oaks and a large low sets up the fairway and runs along the left side of the hole. The second shot offers a risk/reward opportunity that brings water and out of bounds into play with a bold shot selection. The third shot may also need to carry a portion of the pond to putt for birdie.

The par 4, 12th is the longest par four at Kinsale. Your tee shot will have to avoid the tree line down the right side and the fairway bunker on the left for a good chance to reach this green in two. The best angle into this narrow green is from the right side of the fairway.

The par 3, 13th is heavily guarded by bunkers. Designed with two bunkers short right and two on the left and an elevated tee shot makes this tee shot demanding.

Sceal (Shkayuhl) Story
The par 4, 14th plays slightly uphill into a fairly wide landing area. Don’t be too far off line or you’ll contend with trees and a pond to the right and out of bounds or bunkers on the left. Be accurate on your second shot because the green is guarded by a group of bunkers on the left and it falls off into a low on the right.

The par 4, 15th requires a tee shot to bend around the large, cavernous bunker on the left for the best angle into the green. There are also two target bunkers on the right. The large feature mound on the left side of the green, mat affect the approach. Also, avoid the “cotton” bunker on the right to have a chance at par.

The par 5, 16th is another strong par five will test the player’s endurance down the stretch. The tee shot must favor the left side of the fairway because of the deep bunker on the right. Your second shot can be laid up right of the fairway bunker or you can go for this green in two. But be careful because the green side bunker on the right is a very difficult up and down.

Baol (Bweel) Danger
The par 3, 17 is the toughest of the par three’s at Kinsale. The three tiered green is nestled along a large pond. Any wayward shot to the right will find a watery grave. For the timid, there is a large bailout area but beware because a few small bunkers wait there.

Bua (Booah) Victory
The par 4, 18th final hole at Kinsale doglegs to the right through the trees. Depending on how much of the corner was cut off, the player may hit anywhere from a mid iron to a fairway wood towards this green. A bunker front right guards the green.
